MCS begins construction of Erdgard Central Point Development in Walsall

MCS has officially started work at Central Point, a major new industrial and logistics development in Walsall, being delivered for industrial developer Erdgard and funded by the Richardson family.

The start of construction was recently celebrated with a ground breaking ceremony attended by representatives from MCS, Erdgard, Richardson, and the wider project team, with participants putting spades in the ground to mark the official start of the development.

Acting as Principal Contractor, we will deliver six high-specification warehouses and industrial units, ranging in size from 5,880 sq ft to 24,692 sq ft, with flexibility for the occupier to combine units to meet larger space requirements.

Sustainability lies at the heart of the development’s design with a BREEAM target rating of Very Good and EPC A+ performance. Each unit will also include EV charging points, photovoltaic panels, and 10% rooflights to maximise natural daylight within the buildings.

The earthworks and substructure works are now nearing completion in readiness for the arrival of steel frame erection and follow-on trades.

Project completion is due in February 2027, and once finished, Central Point will offer modern, energy-efficient facilities that support business growth and the ongoing regeneration of the area.
