MCS Group takes Parker Plant redevelopment from concept to construction

MCS Group’s involvement in redeveloping Parker Plant’s Leicester headquarters goes well beyond our typical project scope. Home to Parker Plant for over 100 years, the site at Viaduct Works, Canon Street, is being transformed into a new, purpose-built manufacturing facility.

Working in partnership with Pegasus Group, HTA Architects, PRP Consulting Engineers and Surveyors, and TEP (The Engineering Practice), we helped take the scheme from its initial brief and concept design through planning. Now on site, our team is delivering a 75,000 sq ft purpose-built manufacturing facility, with CAT A office space, welfare facilities, four production bays, and a separate paint shop.

We are also installing nine new overhead cranes, with lifting capacities ranging from 10 to 30 tonnes and helping to relocate the existing Goliath cranes from the current production facility.

Sustainability is important to Parker Plant, so it is central to the design. The new facility will feature solar panels, LED lighting, improved insulation, EV charging points, and enhanced biodiverse landscaping.

This tender has required more involvement from us than usual in terms of client engagement, design resources, and planning to get to where it is.

Work began in November 2025, with completion expected in November 2026.
