Steve Mosson joins MCS Group as Operations Manager

MCS Group has appointed experienced construction professional Steve Mosson as Operations Manager to support project delivery and operational performance across our business.

After leaving the Royal Air Force, Steve retrained as a carpenter, building on the transferable skills he developed during his military career. These include discipline, teamwork, planning and attention to detail.

Over the past 25 years, he has progressed through site management, project management and contract management to senior operational leadership roles for companies including Britannia Construction, Barnwood Construction and Beard Construction. During this time, Steve also gained an NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management, an NVQ Level 3 in carpentry and a range of health & safety and leadership qualifications.

Steve joined us in May 2026 as Operations Manager, supporting the successful delivery of our projects, working closely with clients, project teams, and colleagues. “The variety is something I really enjoy,” said Steve. “My day could include meeting clients, reviewing project progress, supporting site teams, monitoring programmes, helping resolve operational issues and working with teams to plan for future opportunities. The role is about making sure our projects are set up for success and that our teams have the support they need to deliver safely, efficiently and to the standards expected by our clients and MCS.”

Since joining MCS Group, Steve has worked across the full project lifecycle, from supporting bids and tenders through to live project delivery. He has been involved in utilities projects for Cadent and Wales & West Utilities, coordinated the design process for the Panattoni Theale development, led planning and design activities for the Sunrise project at Park Royal, and headed up the operational side of the negotiated tender for Market House in Harlow.

Summing up his experience with the business so far, Steve said: “It’s been a very positive experience. Everyone has been kind and supportive, and there’s a real sense of teamwork across the business. I’ve been impressed by the professionalism of the people and the collaborative approach to carrying out projects. It’s an environment where people take ownership, support each other and take pride in doing a good job.”

When not working, Steve enjoys spending time with his family, keeping fit and following rugby. He also helps manage his son’s junior rugby team, enjoys travelling and scuba diving, and likes spending as much time outdoors as possible.
